I am very pleased to welcome talented local fibre artist/feltmaker Inna Zhereshchina to my studio to teach a master class in making scarves - for a second time!
Originally from Russia, Inna has been working with wool using the wet felting technique for more than 10 years. She specializes in creating delicate felt using wool, fine fibres, silk and cotton. Inna's skill and artistry is evident in the beautiful wearable pieces that she makes. From the whimsical to the elegant, Inna's work can be found by visiting her IG account: @fine.felting.
In this full day class, you will learn how to create the beautiful scarf featured on this page (a variety of fibre colours may be available). Step by step, Inna will show you how to lay out wool, silk and other fibres, how to make straight edges, how to felt efficiently using a sanding machine, and how to make open work/lace-like felt. You will leave this class with a completely designed and wet felted scarf, but please note that due to its time consuming nature, you may have to continue your desired number of 'holes' in the scarf at home using the approach shared by Inna.
This class is perfect for both the beginner (i.e. totally new to felting!) or for someone who is a more regular felter and yet would like to benefit from the skill of this visiting artist.
As with all of my full-day classes, Inna's guests will enjoy morning tea and coffee, fresh baked goodies, along with a delicious lunch. All supplies will be provided.
Please register soon so that you don't miss this wonderful class!
