Do not miss joining in on this unique workshop with guest artist Jennifer Osborn of All Sorts Acres Farm & Gallery.
Jennifer is not only a sheep farmer with her husband Tim, but also an artist. With a strong background in fine art, printmaking and design, Jennifer uses the wool her flock provides her - along with naturally derived dyes - to create beautiful pictures inspired by farm life. All Sorts Acres embraces circular thinking and sustainability, making full use of what the land has to offer and supporting all the creatures that make up a healthy, living landscape.
As an exciting aside...All Sorts Acres is launching its own wool processing mill in 2024 with a specialization in felting fibres (how spectacular is this??).
In this workshop, you will create your own unique pop art-inspired black-and-white portrait of a special animal.
Using local, naturally coloured wool, you will learn how to transfer your simplified image, create a value scale, blend, and mix fibre using hand tools. Different needle techniques will also be covered. No drawing or felting experience is necessary!
A headshot of an animal image must be sent one week before the class. Jennifer will help you to simplify your image so that you can create a picture that truly pops!
All supplies are included, along with tea, coffee and some snacks.
