This table runner was so much fun to create, and is close to my heart. I wanted to design a piece that was a bit whimsical, so I left the trees quite abstract in appearance.
Red cardinals perch, flit and swoop throughout the piece and amongst the trees (which are pointing in both directions so that the piece is never really 'upside down'), with a fine gold 'ribbon' flowing through trees. I know, I know - next time I will add some lady birds!
I created napkins rings to go with this piece, using maple wood buttons. On one napkin ring, I added the cardinal to tie in with the runner. A liner on the opposite side of the runner covers up stitching while also adding weight to the piece.
As a special added touch, I included some napkins in perfect theme with the table runner.
