Come to my St. Jacobs studio for a feature two-day workshop with fibre artist Alison Hall where you will sculpt a human figure with wool!
In this engaging workshop, you will learn to needle felt your character over wire armature, including fingers. Want to make a 'mini-me' (you)? How about a figure of a loved one as a gift? Or perhaps a figure to inspire some voodoo?? (we shall not be held responsible for any strange happenings, though).
There will be ample room for your own unique creative choices. You can dress your person in whatever style you like, needle felting or wet felting a unique wool fabric to use as any part of your clothing. You will learn techniques for sculpting facial features and expressions, all the way down to ears and nostrils. Become a hairstylist with your wool, or add earrings and jewelry, beads and details.
Your finished doll will be approximately 9” tall and be bendable in the arms, body and legs.
Please note that this is a 2-day class. You will be greeted in the morning with coffee/tea, fresh baked treats and fruit. Your lunch is provided too, and we promise a tasty, healthy and full meal! Finally, all of your supplies are provided. All you need to bring to class are yourself and your idea of the type of human doll you wish to design.
